Sugar Land City Council

Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve agreements with the Greatwood Community Association, Inc. and with Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 11 for access to drainage outfalls for maintenance purposes.

The agreements are part of an ongoing citywide effort to ensure optimal performance of storm water drainage infrastructure, including during extreme weather events, according to a news release. News Release

The city council voted 6-0, with Steve Porter recusing himself from voting, to approve an agreement with Gannoway Lake Estates Home Owners Association for funding of a decorative concrete wall along Burney Road.

The city council voted unanimously to award a $1,002,469 to McDonald Municipal and Industrial, a division of C.F. McDonald Electric, Inc. for construction of the lift stations rehabilitation project.

The city council voted 6-0, with Mayor Joe Zimmerman recusing himself from voting, to approve, on first and final reading, an ordinance adopting the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan Update.

The city council voted unanimously to order an election for May 5 to elect the mayor and two at-large council positions.

Zimmerman and council members Himesh Gandhi and Mary K. Joyce have terms expiring in May.

The city council voted unanimously to suspend the February 9 effective date of SiEnergy, LP's statement of intent to increase natural gas utility rates.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a compensation package for the Sugar Land Municipal Court Judge, as discussed in closed session.

The package is for the period of January 1 through December 31.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
