Remembering Jim Guidry Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership
Galveston County
Clear Lake Shores City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, February 07, 2018

Clear Lake Shores City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to authorize the city attorney to prepare a separation agreement to offer to City Administrator George Jones, as discussed in closed session.

The city council postponed action regarding 2018 “Plant a Tree” program, which would involve the purchase of wholesale trees by the city that would be offered to residents at a reduced rate.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Council Member Christy Lyons to the Animal Bayou Services Board.

The city council took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding a possible financial or other incentive to a business prospect seeking to locate, stay or expand in the city.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize an expenditure of $75,000 by the Clear Lake Shores Economic Development Corporation for the EDC Facade Improvement Program.

The city council took no action, but discussed the dissolution of the Economic Development Corporation and options for managing and promoting economic development without an official corporation in place.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Christy Lyons was absent. Agenda
