Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the weekend, including Friday's shooting of a man at 9900 Cheeves Road.

Investigation into Shooting at 9900 Cheeves

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 9900 Cheeves Road about 11:45 p.m. last Friday (Feb. 8).

The victim, Oscar Comeaux, 40, suffered a gunshot wound to his arm and abdomen.  He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Investigator S. Ragsdale reported:

Mr. Comeaux was shot at the above address near his residence.  At this time, there is no description of a suspect or a motive established in the shooting.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7500 Long Point

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 7500 Long Point Road about 6:10 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 10).

The identity of the male victim, 71, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer L. Tram reported:

The driver of a gray Nissan Versa was traveling westbound on Long Point when the victim (pedestrian), pushing a shopping cart, attempted to cross the street - not in a crosswalk - in front of the Nissan.  The driver of the Nissan was unable to stop and struck the victim.  A second vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling eastbound on Long Point then struck the shopping cart and the Nissan.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene and neither was found to be intoxicated.

 
Investigation in Fatal Crash at 15800 Old Galveston Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 15800 Old Galveston Road about 9:40 p.m. on Sunday (February 11). 

The identity of the deceased female victim, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer G. Anderson reported:

The victim was driving a white Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Old Galveston Road at a high rate of speed and ran the red light at the intersection of El Dorado Boulevard.  The Hyundai then struck a gray Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck and a white Jeep Liberty traveling eastbound on El Dorado.  The Jeep then struck a light pole on the northeast corner of the intersection. 

The victim was transported to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.  The driver of the Chevrolet was also transported to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.

 
Investigation into Male Found Deceased at 6701 Cambridge

The investigation into the death of a male found at 6701 Cambridge Street about 12:40 p.m on Sunday (Feb. 11) is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

The identity of the male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Investigator D. Fontenot reported:

Witnesses reported seeing a male floating in Brays Bayou near the above address.  The HPD Dive Team responded and was able to retrieve the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.  At this time, his cause of death is unknown.
