Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to file lawsuits for civil enforcement of the county's Junkyard and Automotive Wrecking and Salvage Yard Ordinance, and the order adopting visual aesthetic standards for screening junkyards and automotive wreckage and salvage yards in the unincorporated areas of Fort Bend County.

The motion also approved an exemption of the county attorney from filing a bond to take out any extraordinary writ in any such lawsuits. Listen (1:39)

The commissioners court voted to reappoint Paula Arrington and Alice Bijarro to the Fort Bend County Library Advisory Board.

The commissioners court voted to approve payment of an invoice totaling $17,500 to Durwood Greene Construction Co. for construction of the Sycamore Road Mobility Bond Project. The item was corrected to note that it is in Precinct 1, not Precinct 3.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a resolution in support of an application for housing tax credits regarding The Greens at Mission Bend , new development at the corner of Beechnut Street and Lobera Drive.

The commissioners court voted to approve an application to the Texas General Land Office for Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds for areas affected by flooding in 2016.

The commissioners court voted to approve an application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for $150,000 in grant funding for the Felony Drug Court, Misdemeanor Drug Court and the DWI Court programs. No matching funds will be required from the county for the grant.

The commissioners court voted to approve an application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for $97,450 for Constable Precinct 3, with no matching funds required.

The commissioners court approved, by unanimous record vote, the acquisition of property through eminent domain of property required for the Old Needville-Fairchilds Road Mobility Bond Project.

The commissioners court voted to award a term contract to EnviroTech Water Treatment for chemical treatment services for cooling towers.

The commissioners court voted to accept a settlement offer as discussed in closed session regarding threatened litigation in the matter of Adrianna Dennis regarding an accident involving a county dump truck on August 13, 2016.
