Open House to Release The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition Draft for Public Comment

Stakeholders asked to Provide Feedback on The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition Draft

The Galveston Bay Estuary Program (GBEP), with support from the Houston-Galveston Area Council, will host an open house for public comment on The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition draft from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 5, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension-Galveston building, 4102-B Main Street, La Marque.

Attendees will learn about the four Plan Priorities identified in the draft and provide feedback to the GBEP to ensure Galveston Bay is protected and sustained for future generations. Printed copies of The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition draft will be available for review at the open house.

Online Forum for Public Comment

For those unable to attend the open house, an online forum for reviewing the draft document and providing feedback will be made available through the project website beginning March 5 at 4:00 p.m., and closing 30 days later, on April 4 at 4:00 p.m.

About The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition

As an established National Estuary Program, the GBEP must maintain a plan to address priority objectives in the Galveston Bay estuary. The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition draft is a revision of The Galveston Bay Plan, originally published in 1995.

More than 150 members of the Galveston Bay community, representing local governments, industry, academia, nonprofits, resource agencies, and the public, donated their time and talents to develop The Galveston Bay Plan, 2nd Edition draft.
