Symphony at Shangri La

ORANGE, Texas - The Lutcher Theater and Shangri La Botanical Gardens are happy to announce Symphony at Shangri La featuring the Symphony of Southeast Texas is rescheduled for Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 5:00 PM. The event was postponed from it’s original date due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey. 

All are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic lunch to soak up the alluring sights and sounds of spring and the performing arts at sunset. Lawn seating is available for $15.00 at lutcher.org or by calling the Lutcher theater Box Office at 409.886.5535.

The Symphony of Southeast Texas, conducted by Maestro, Chelsea Tipton, returns to Shangri La Gardens in the spring to indulge patrons with a festive evening of seasonal nature and magnificent music. New this year, the program will feature Soprano soloist, Abigail Dueppen.

Message from Shangri La Gardens Director, Rick Lewandowski:

Despite the devastating flooding and damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center is well on the road to recovery through the amazing commitment of staff and contractors over the past several months.

While many buildings are in the process of renovation, the gardens, wildlife and nature have seen a remarkable recovery. Spring at Shangri La Gardens is sure to be filled with the many sights, sounds, and fragrances of spring, providing a perfect setting for the joyous celebration of music and nature in the Garden through talents and skills of Symphony of Southeast Texas orchestra led by Maestro, Chelsea Tipton III.

We truly hope you will join us to celebrate the beauty of nature, the joy of music, and the resilience of our community for the 2018 Spring Symphony at Shangri.
