Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the weekend, including Sunday's fatal shooting of a man at 9598 Rowlette. 

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9598 Rowlette
 
Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9598 Rowlette about 10:15 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 18).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Horn and Detective S. Overstreet reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in a business parking lot at the above address and observed HFD paramedics providing aid to a man who had been shot multiple times.  The victim was transported to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

After viewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses, investigators learned two suspects met with the victim and his friend inside the victim's vehicle in the parking lot.  Shortly after the suspects got into the victim's vehicle, the victim was shot several times.  His friend managed to get out of the vehicle and run to safety.  The suspects got into another vehicle and fled the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9898 Forum Park Drive

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9898 Forum Park Drive about 12:50 a.m. on Sunday (February 18). 

The identity of the victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Watson, M. Cass, G. Sullivan and C. Elder reported: 

The victim was shot once in the chest inside an apartment at the above address.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The suspect is described only as a black male with a thin build.  He has short black hair, tattoos on his chest and a light skin tone.

Investigation into Shooting at 3902 Bellfort Street

Houston police are investigating the shooting of three men at 3902 Bellfort Street about 6:50 p.m. on Sunday (February 18). 

The victims, Kermit Compton, 62, Gordon Davis, 18, and Devon Collins, 20, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals in unknown conditions. 

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers D. Nabors and R. Montalvo reported: 

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a gas station at the above address and learned three males had been shot.  Messrs Davis and Collins and another unknown male arrived in a Volvo sedan with bullet holes and ran into the gas station convenience store.  Shortly after, a black 2015 or 2016 Chevrolet Malibu with black rims drove by the location and an unknown suspect fired several shots from inside the vehicle, toward the gas station.  Davis was struck in the right leg and Collins was struck in the face.  Compton, who was working as a cook at the gas station, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigation into Shooting at 7800 Locksley

Houston police are investigating the shooting of two men at 7800 Locksley about 10:25 a.m. on Sunday (February 18). 

The victims, Jerome O'Brien, 33, and Brian Jones, 28, were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. 

HPD Major Assaults Unit Detective L. Patterson reported: 

Mr. O'Brien and Mr. Jones were walking toward North Wayside Drive when a known suspect, armed with a gun, walked toward them from his yard.  The suspect fired several shots and  both men were struck in the legs.  The suspect then fled the scene in a tan-colored Cadillac of unknown model.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 18414 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 18414 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday (February 17). 

The identity of the male victim, 46, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer M. Nicotra reported: 

The victim was operating a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle southbound on the Gulf Freeway, failed to control his speed and struck a gold Chevrolet HHR sport utility vehicle.  The victim died at the scene.  The female driver of the Chevrolet, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be intoxicated and was questioned and released.
