Construction and storm debris pick up ending March 4

Beginning March 4, the City’s solid waste management contractor, Waste Connections of Texas, will discontinue picking up bagged construction and storm-related debris.

Residents will be responsible for removing construction and storm-related debris, renovation materials and any other items except household garbage from their property. Here are some suggested ways of handling debris:

-Select a landfill and use your personal vehicle to haul it directly to the landfill. If you have very little debris remaining, consider combining your pile with a neighbor’s to form a combined load.

-Pay your reconstruction contractor to haul off construction debris.

-Consider renting a “roll-off” or portable dumpster. Sharing it with a neighbor is an option.

-Hire a debris removal contractor. Search newspapers or the internet to find one.

For additional questions related to debris, contact the Friendswood Office of Emergency Management at 281-996-3335 or at eoc@friendswood.com
