Village of Tiki Island Board of Aldermen

The Village of Tiki Island Board of Aldermen on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve an expenditure of to fix the elevator at the Public Safety Building as opposed to replacing the elevator.

The expenditure to fix the elevator is estimated total $8,184, plus $2,500 for a new door and frame.

The board voted unanimously to award a $12,450 contract to SW Concrete for the expansion of the sidewalk northeast of the bridge.

The board voted unanimously to approve an expenditure of $2,200 for removal of the palm trees on the northeast side of the Tiki Bridge.

The board voted 2-1, with Hunter Neblett opposed, on a motion to approve an expenditure of $1,800 for trash and debris cleanup in the wetlands area behind the church. The motion failed due to not meeting the number needed number of votes in favor.

The board voted unanimously to deny a request for a variance for a driveway gate and posts at 429 Amanda Circle.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Aldermen Ron Simons and Freddie Carmichael were absent. Agenda

During the meeting, the board discussed a possible study using grant funds through Texas A&M University to expand and enhance the village's CRS rating. No action was taken on the item.
