The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to create a marketing/tourism coordinator position and appropriate funding for the position.

The pay for the position will be $50,000 to $60,000 per year depending on qualifications, with approximately $20,000 per year in benefits.

The costs of the position will be split equally between the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund and Texas City Economic Development Corporation.

The city commission voted to appoint Amanda Johnson to the Civil Service Commission.

The city commission voted to create an additional combination inspector position and appropriate funding for the position.

The pay for the position will be $40,000 to $48,000 per year with approximately $15,000 per year in benefits.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Jami Clark absent. Agenda
