Galveston ISD Board of Trustees

The Galveston Independent School District Board of Trustees on Wednesday voted 5-0-1, with Anthony Brown abstaining, to nominate Tom Farmer for appointment to the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.

Each taxing entity in the county is nominating a candidate to the board of directors for appointment to fill a vacancy left by Victor Pierson.

The board took no action regarding the nomination of a candidate for the Texas Association of School Boards Board of Directors. No members provided a nomination for consideration.

The board voted unanimously to engage the firm of Belt Harris Pechacek to provide audit services for FY2018.

The board voted unanimously to approve the use of fund balance, not to exceed $300,000, for repair of damages caused by Hurricane Harvey.
