Kuraray America Inc.
News Release
Monday, February 26, 2018

Kuraray America’s (KAI) values the importance of keeping youth engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

The Kuraray employees volunteered their time on February 17 with the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council and the Houston Museum of Natural Science at their annual Girls Exploring Math and Science (GEMS) event. There were hands-on science and math experiences for everyone.

Local professionals from around the Houston area hosted community booths to answer questions about their careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, and the Kuraray volunteers taught about reflection through kaleidoscopes and about polymers by making bouncy balls with borax, cornstarch, and white school glue.

To learn more about Kuraray’s community involvement or to request volunteers, visit
