Surveillance video posted at
Sugar Land, Texas - Sugar Land police are looking for two people seen on surveillance video stealing a wallet from an unattended purse inside Panera Bread, 1928 Highway 6, on Feb. 4.

Video from the restaurant shows the pair of thieves enter the restaurant just after 2 p.m. and sit near a table where two women were eating.  A purse belonging to one of the women was left across the table in an empty chair. The female thief draped a scarf over the purse while the two women were distracted, removed a wallet and quickly left with her male companion.

About 30 minutes later, the woman who owned the purse received a text that her credit card was declined at a nearby department store.

The suspects are described as a white or Hispanic man and woman.  The man was wearing sunglasses, a blue blazer, a maroon shirt, jeans and tan shoes, and the woman was wearing sunglasses, a black jacket, a checkered scarf, a maroon shirt, jeans and white shoes.

Police believe the two thieves are responsible for at least four other similar crimes in Sugar Land since Jan. 15.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
