City Council approves separation agreement with George Jones

CLEAR LAKE SHORES, Texas – The City of Clear Lake Shores and City Administrator George Jones have mutually agreed upon a separation agreement effective March 2, 2018.

The agreement provides for his separation from employment with the City, and resolves any claims he may have with the City, its officials, officers, agents and employees, past or present, both in the individual and official capacities, in exchange for compensation in the total amount of $61,034.37 which includes six months’ pay and benefits.

“This was a difficult decision for the city council,” said Michael McNamara, Mayor of Clear Lake Shores. “George has been an asset to our city, and his public service to our employees and citizens is greatly appreciated.”

Jones was named City Administrator in December 2012, and officially began his duties in that capacity in January 2013. No interim City Administrator has been appointed.
