The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with Galveston County for the reconstruction of portions of Texas Avenue and Century Boulevard.

The projects are to be funded through the county's November 2017 County Bond Election, with local matches from the city. The Texas Avenue project will reconstruct the road between 14th Street and 6th Street. Century Boulevard will be for between Sea Lion Chemicals and State Highway 3.

The city commission voted to appropriate $1 million in funds for the Texas Avenue Construction Project. The funds are the city's local match for the joint project with Galveston County.

The city commission voted to approve an engineering agreement with ARKK Engineers, LLC for the Texas Avenue Reconstruction Project.

The city commission voted authorize the Galveston County Mosquito Control District for aerial spraying.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Dorthea Jones absent. Agenda
