Volunteers Needed for Shelter Disaster Drill

Seabrook, Texas – BayCERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is seeking volunteers for a mock-emergency shelter drill. The drill will be held at the Seabrook Community House located at 1210 Anders Street, Seabrook, TX, on Thursday, April 19, 2018, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and will end at 9 p.m.

Volunteers will represent displaced citizens following a local disaster. The Seabrook Community House will serve as temporary shelter for the displaced citizens. All age participants are needed.

BayCERT will be operating the drill according to American Red Cross guidelines. This exercise is one of many ways the BayCERT team interacts with the community and first responders in emergency situations.

BayCERT is part of the Harris County Citizen Corps, Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and is solely a volunteer organization. For more information or to volunteer please email Ronica Hall at  All participants should sign up to volunteer in advance.
