This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “I’m Not Lying” in Galveston and “Holmes and Watson” in Houston.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will kick off its summer season with Jaston Williams in “I’m Not Lying” on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“Join Jaston Williams as he shares pre-Tuna stories where you will meet the Alaskan cowboy who drove a hearse,” said a news release. “Have dinner served by the most nervous waiter in Texas. And, drop in on a Renaissance Fair held at a movie star's home - while dressed in a chicken suit.” News Release

The Alley Theater in Houston opens its production of “Holmes and Watson” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through July 22.

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will present “A Gulf Coast Juneteenth” on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Miller Outdoor Theatre will also kick off its ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights series on Friday, with Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Miller Theatre will host the symphony for Tchaikovsky’s Fifth.

Theatre Under the Stars ends its production of “Guys & Dolls” this week at the Hobby Center in Houston

Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Alley Theater in Houston continues with “The Cake”, with performances Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 and 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through July 1.

Upcoming performances include “Young Frankenstein”, opening July 13 at Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson, and “All Shook Up”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars and opening July 10 at Miller Outdoor Theatre.
