Fort Bend County
Missouri City City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, June 19, 2018

Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to amend the FY2018 Budget to extend the ending date of the budget from June 30 to September 30, a three-month extension.

The extension is due to the city's change of its fiscal year. Future budgets will begin on October 1 and end September 30.

The city council voted to amend the bylaws of the Missouri City Recreation and Leisure Local Government Corporation to reflect the dates of the new fiscal year.

The city council voted to adopt a settlement agreement with SiEnergy, LP and the Gulf Coast Coalition of Cities regarding tariffs for the company's natural gas utility rates.

SiEnergy had sought $400,000 in revenue increases. The rate increase was challenged. Under the settlement, residential rates will increase from $15 to $17, as opposed to $19.50, while commercial customers may see a rate increase from $30 to $37, instead of $45.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
