The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority today voted unanimously to award a $103,500 contract to John C. Martin Associates, LLC for the development of an economic impact study for the port authority.

The board voted unanimously to approve a three-year lease agreement with Covey Transport, Inc. for approximately 3.66 acres in the Northside Turning Basing Terminal, at an annual rental of $75,190 and an annual increase of 3 percent or the increase in the consumer price index, whichever is greater.

The board voted unanimously to award a $4,835,052 contract to Turner Construction Company for the renovation of the Executive Office Building at Turning Basin Terminal.

The board voted unanimously to award a $5,876,800 contract to Shoreline Foundation for the partial demolition of the former Lighter Aboard Ship (Lash) Dock at Barbours Cut Terminal.

The board voted unanimously to amend a professional services contract with Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam, Inc. for additional services for Port Road parcel supplemental site detention analysis at the Bayport Container Terminal.

The board did not approve an item regarding re-advertising for proposals for spotting of vessels at port authority facilities.

The board voted unanimously to award a $2,388,600 contract to Industrial & Crane Services, Inc. for the replacement of short trolley rails and gantrex pads on six wharf cranes at the Bayport Container Terminal.

The board voted unanimously to amend a lease agreement as discussed in closed session.

The board voted unanimously to authorize the settlement of claims with CYMI Industrial, Inc., as discussed in closed session.

The board voted unanimously to authorize a settlement of the port's claims against M/V Barents, formally known as M/V BBC Sweden, as discussed in closed session.

The board took no other action on items discussed in closed session.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Board Chair Janiece Longoria was absent. Commissioner John Kennedy presided over the meeting. Agenda
