Water Restrictions July 17-19 for Residents West of South Highway 3
News Release
Friday, July 13, 2018

League City will enact Stage 3 of the City’s Drought Contingency Plan for all water customers west of South Highway 3, except for commercial businesses, beginning Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 12:00 a.m. until Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. This is a necessary precautionary measure to complete 39-inch water main tie-ins along both sides of IH-45 which are required for TxDOT’s on-going widening of the interstate highway.

The tie-ins are estimated to take 72 hours to complete and are vital part of League City’s water main transmission line that supplies water to the majority of League City's westside of town. During this time, the City of League City will have less water available and will need to conserve water usage to maintain essential needs, ensure regulatory compliant delivery, and maintain firefighting capabilities.

From 12 a.m. Tuesday, July 17 to Thursday, July 19 at 11:59 p.m. the following actions will be prohibited for residential water customers residing west of Highway 3.

  • Irrigation of landscaped areas.
  • Use of water to wash any motor vehicle, motorcycle, 4-wheeler, boat, trailer, airplane or other vehicle.
  • Use of water to wash down any sidewalk, walkway, driveway, parking lot, tennis court, or other hard surface area.
  • Flushing of gutters or permitting water to run or accumulate in any gutter or street.
  • Washing down any building or structure for purposes other than immediate fire protection.

Residents who have questions are asked to call the League City Water Production Department at 281-554-1041.
