Friendswood City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve conducting a flood vulnerability study for the city.

The city council had formed a subcommitee in June to investigate solutions to historic flooding issues in Friendswood. The subcommittee brought forward a proposal by Rice University professor Dr. Philip B. Bedient to create a high level HEC-RAS model of the Clear Creek watershed, which will allow for the investigation of proposed theories into finding a solution for historic flooding.

The city council voted to appoint Matthew Riley as library director.

The city council voted to appoint Ashley Mannschreck to fill the unexpired term of Tamara Zurawski on Keep Friendswood Beautiful.

The city council voted to appoint Cody Owen and Tom Hinckley as alternate members on the Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals.

The city council voted to appoint JoBeth Brizendine, Benette Rowley and Madeline Short to the Library Board.

The city council voted to award a contract to Emergicon for Emergency Medical Service billing and collections.

The city council voted to terminate the city's contract with Special Touch Landscaping, Inc.

The city council voted to schedule the September city council meeting to September 10 due to the Labor Day holiday.
