Galveston County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to remove the appointment of Dr. Landon C. Stout, Jr., M.D., as a deputy medical examiner for the medical examiner’s office.

A memo from the county’s legal department to the court dated September 4, 2018 explained that the medical examiner approved the removal after it was discovered that Stout is no longer in the Autopsy Rotation.

The court voted unanimously to adopt “Optional Health Care Services" and provide public notice of the county’s indigent health care services for fiscal year 2018-2019.

The court voted unanimously to approve the Coconut Grove subdivision replat.

The court voted unanimously to approve contracts pertaining to the Financial Assistance Program for the county to the following five parties:

  • St. Vincent’s House
  • Salvation Army of Galveston County
  • M.I. Lewis Social Service Center
  • Interfaith Caring Ministries
  • Galveston County Community Action Council

An item relating to a purchasing bid for grounds maintenance was deferred.

The court met in executive session, but took no subsequent action.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously with all members present. Agenda
