Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership GRCC
Galveston County
Phase 2 of bringing electronic plan review to Galveston begins this week
News Release
Friday, November 02, 2018

Accela access will be down from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday November 2.

Galveston, Texas – Oct. 31, 2018 – Some city services will be temporarily unavailable Friday afternoon as we work on the next phase of implementing technology to improve services by offering electronic plan review.

In February, the City announced we would be making electronic plan review a reality for those doing business with the City of Galveston. Phase 2 of the necessary reconfigurations to bring this feature to Galveston will take place from 1:00 to 5:00pm on Friday, November 2.  The first phase of this project took place during the summer and included upgrades to the Accela permitting software.

While these reconfigurations to Accela take place, some City services will be unavailable. These are outlined below:

Applicants will not be able to apply for permits.

The City will not be able to issue any permits during this time.

During the software’s down time, those who have questions or wish to submit applications for permits in person or over email can contact the Development Services Department.

Applications for permits can be submitted in person by visiting the Planning Department on the 4th floor of City Hall located at 823 Rosenberg or by emailing the application to buildingdivision@galvestontx.gov.

Applications accepted during this period will be submitted on Monday November 5 as soon as the software is brought back online. o Applicants can also call 409-797-3660 or email the Building Division at buildingdivision@galvestontx.gov with any questions.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience as we continue to work toward improving the level of service we can provide to those who live and work in the City of Galveston.
