The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve a $100,000 agreement with Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott, Inc. for architectural services for renovations of the city's library.

The renovations are anticipated to total $1.3 million, and include new flooring/carpeting, new patron study rooms, a new group study room, updated electrical capacity, redesigned entrance area, circulation and reference desk and bathrooms, and improved plumbing.

The city commission voted to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Galveston for live fire training.

The city commission voted to approve the purchase of 429 Visa gift cards, in the amount of $50 each, to be given to city employees as an incentive for outstanding customer service and performance.

The city commission voted to authorize the write-off of utility receivables past due and deemed as uncollectible.

The city commission voted to authorize the write-off of EMS receivables deemed uncollectible.

The city commission voted to approve an $82,800 engineering agreement with ARKK Engineers, LLC for the rehabilitation of the Orchid 1 million gallon elevated storage tank.
