Airforce Vet and Southwest Airline Pilot Darren Ellisor to Deliver Keynote Address

League City will host its annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony this Sunday, November 11 at the red pavilion located at the Chester L. Davis Sportsplex, 1251 League City Parkway. Veterans and their families are invited to attend a complimentary noon lunch provided by AMOCO Federal Credit Union followed by a 1 p.m. ceremony honoring the men and women of League City who have served or who continue to serve our country.

The ceremony will feature remarks by Mayor Pat Hallisey and several City leaders who have served in the armed forces, including Councilman Todd Kinsey and Assistant City Manager Michael Kramm.

This year’s keynote speaker is Darren Ellisor, a League City resident, Airforce veteran, and Southwest Airlines pilot who earlier this year helped to successfully land Flight 1380 in Philadelphia after multiple system malfunctions.

This Veteran’s Day also marks the 100 year anniversary of the end of WWI. In 1918, at the 11th hour of  the 11th day of the 11th month, a truce was signed, and the fighting ended.
