Galveston College Board of Regents

The Galveston College Board of Regents on Wednesday voted unanimously to adopt the FY2019 Budget for the United States Department of Education Title V Grant Project's “Pathway to Model for Improved Teaching, Advising and Transfer at a Hispanic-Serving Community College.”

The college had been awarded $549,996 for the first year of what is anticipated to be a five-year grant period for a total amount of $2,749,938.

Activities for the first year of the grant include renovations to the library and the lobby area of Moody Hall.

The board voted to accept an increase in Perkins Career and Technical Education Basic Grants through the U.S. Department of Education.

The grant will be increased from a total of $115,078 to $131,445.

The board voted to approve the purchase of Microsoft Surface Pro Laptops and Apple iPads.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Regent Tino Gonzalez absent. Agenda
