Santa Fe City Council on Thursday voted unanimously to adopt an order calling an election for May 4 to elect three council members.

Joe Carothers, Ronald “Bubba” Jannett and Bill Pittman have terms expiring in May.

The city council voted to approve a contract with Galveston County to provide election services for the May 4 election.

The city council voted to acknowledge a fee reduction for assessment and collection services performed by the Galveston County Tax Assessor and Collector. The fee will be reduced from $0.25 per parcel to $0.21 per parcel.

During the meeting, the city council discussed implementing a stop arm camera program in partnership with the Santa Fe Independent School District. The cameras would be utilized to ticket those passing a stopped school bus picking up or dropping off students. The city council will consider action items related to establishing a program at a future council meeting.
