advises that an Arctic cold front will
barrel through Southeast Texas late this
weekend ushering in much colder weather
and rain changing to, or mixed with,
freezing rain and sleet by early next

relatively thin section of Galveston,
from the beachfront, south of downtown,
to north across the island, to Pelican
Island was besieged with rainfall that
caused street flooding to an extent that
longtime residents could not recall.
